After witnessing the brutal murder of his family by the mercenary Sub-Zero, Hanzo Hasashi is condemned to the Netherrealm before being resurrected as the vengeful specter Scorpion. Back on Earth, Lord Raiden assembles an unlikely team of heroes—Liu Kang, Sonya Blade, and Johnny Cage—to face the sorcerer Shang Tsung in the deadly Mortal Kombat tournament. They must defeat his Outworld warriors to save humanity from annihilation, all while Scorpion hunts for his own bloody retribution.
After the vicious slaughter of his family by stone-cold mercenary Sub-Zero, Hanzo Hasashi is exiled to the torturous Netherrealm.
